Another Poop Treasury

There sure are a lot of Etsians who are into poop, crap, and shit. I think this is the 3rd Treasury, that my shit button has been in.

I didn't get a message about this Treasury, I just happened upon it so I haven't checked yet who created it.

Woke up this morning in Sunny Florida to find out one of my Valentine Art Cards (ACEO) was featured in a Treasury by Kae1Crafts intended to warm those folks in the north.

You can see the treasury HERE until it expires. If you visit the treasury, it might make it to the front page of Etsy.

My friend Summer who sells her homemade candy on Etsy just told me that her daughter has opened an Etsy shop. SweetTeeHamBone. I just love these glass bottle magnets her young daughter made from recycled items.

I have a DREAM.... Treasury

XPoppysWickedGardenX created a wonderful treasury she calls "I have a DREAM...."

It was especially nice of her to include one of my buttons in her Treasury because she, also, makes buttons at her other shop called RockIt Buttons.

That's the kind of community we have going on at Etsy. Gives a person warm fuzzy feelings.

And that's how I feel about Barack Obama, too. I went to hear him speak during the elections. He generates so much love and warmth.

We are on our way to a better world...

The Color Me Human button can be purchased here.

No wonder my shop got so many hearts today

I was checking to see if anyone new gave my shop a heart today and was astounded at how many there were. I went to check the Treasuries, and discovered my Skiing button was used in another treasury. And that Treasury was on the FRONT PAGE today.

WOW! Thanks to Lazy T Crochet for putting me in that high traffic treasury that got me on the Front Page of Etsy today.

Swedish Heart Baskets

I learned to make these Swedish Heart Baskets years ago from my friend Lisa in New York. They are easy to make by weaving paper, and adding embellishments and ribbons. I also tucked paper doilies inside them. You can buy my Swedish Heart basket and use it as a gift card holder, or a treat bag, or fill with dried flowers. If you still have your tree up like I do, you can hang them on your tree.

My newest button on Etsy

I used to make these Valentine buttons years ago. Decided to make some new ones to put on my Etsy shop. I make them with doilies and stickers and glitter. My original ones were made with antique paper doilies belonging to my grandmother. I had to go buy some new doilies to make these buttons.

Portable Graffiti Buttons in San Francisco, California "Summer of Love" Reunion

My cousins Mickey and Maria are seen in this photo, barely, helping out Portable Graffiti at a show we did in San Franciso.

It was the first music festival in the park since the "Summer of Love" in 1967.

We did several shows that year. One was in Haight Ashbury in the town, and it was a killer show. I had planned to get breakfast and coffee to bring to the booth after we got set up. Before we even finished setting up the booth, we were bombarded with customers. When there was a finally a lull from the endless line of people getting custom buttons made, it was the end of the show.

We never got coffee or breakfast. But the arts and crafts show flew by in a blur.

You can now get the very same buttons from the comfort of your home without the crowds. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage and sit back and enjoy Portable Graffiti by going to ZIBBET: http://www.zibbet.com/PortableGraffiti

You'll find many new buttons as well.

Enjoy! Peace out!

Portable Graffiti in New Hampshire

Portable Graffiti selling buttons in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. I rented a store during Bike Week in Laconia, NH.

Those little rug rats are now 18 years old.

Gosh time flies when you're having fun.

1980-something New York State Fair

Notice the signs. My buttons were $1.50 each back then and I still sell the hand made buttons for $1.50. You can get them here at Portable Graffiti.

Photos taken with a Kodak Instamatic camera.

University Of Arizona, Tucson : Saguaro You Today?

Off we went, Jess and I, to sell buttons beyond New York State. Here we are in Tucson, Arizona. There weren't any shows going on at the university, so we found a club willing to sponsor Portable Graffiti for donating a portion of the proceeds to their club. We set up our 20 foot tent on the main commons and sold there for about a week. It was lots of fun but not very profitable.

This was back when I used black and white film in my 35mm camera.

One button we designed then and copyrighted was Saguaro You Today?

Selling on the Boardwalk

Um, what boardwalk? I can't remember. But I know that's my mother in the photo. I know the beach is behind us. And I know the booth didn't blow down. I don't remember what year either, but we do know it was when people used Polaroid cameras.

1979 Creating a Display Booth for the Buttons

Scanned some old photos to show what Portable Graffiti was doing back in 1979 and the eighties. After I bought the button machine and made lots of buttons I had to have a display. First I set up the display out in front of my barn. Then the wind came along and knocked it down. Hey trial and error. So I brought it all across the road to the Town Hall and set it up inside the town hall. (A nice thing about a small town.) I had to do this to take slides of the booth in order to get into juried art shows.

Every single button in the display is hand drawn. The final photo got me into The Cornhill Arts Festival, and many other art shows in New York State.

Etsy seller, JustCHARMING made a Treasury called "Let it Snow." She put my I'd Rather Be Skiing button in the treasury. All that snow up north this winter I am sure many folks are skiing. I'd rather be Skiing, myself.

Uh oh I'm an Etsy Addict

I sure had fun holiday shopping this year. This must qualify me as an Etsy Addict. I spent all the money I made selling buttons in My Etsy Shop on gifts from other Etsy Shops.

But look at all the wonderful handmade things I bought.

Greater than that, I made some new friends in faraway places like Portugal, Finland, the UK, Japan, and Canada.

To wrap all these wonderful Etsy handmade gifts I just had to buy some of the wonderful cloth gift bags I found in Etsy shops. And that's how I made a friend in Missouri.

I just combined fun and work. I had fun combining these photos in Photoshop and I learned a lot too. Time to go to work and use Photoshop to create some fun new buttons. See ya at Portable Graffiti.

New buttons being added all day long

I'm not done yet but thought I'd take a break to post on the blog. I have been adding different buttons to Portable Graffiti all day long. The shop now has 635 buttons listed to choose from. And I have no idea how many more there are to post yet. I'm still going through stock.

Check out the shop. Lots of retro cool and vintage sayings, hippy buttons, rock and roll. I also added many new animal buttons.
