Selling on the Boardwalk

Um, what boardwalk? I can't remember. But I know that's my mother in the photo. I know the beach is behind us. And I know the booth didn't blow down. I don't remember what year either, but we do know it was when people used Polaroid cameras.

1979 Creating a Display Booth for the Buttons

Scanned some old photos to show what Portable Graffiti was doing back in 1979 and the eighties. After I bought the button machine and made lots of buttons I had to have a display. First I set up the display out in front of my barn. Then the wind came along and knocked it down. Hey trial and error. So I brought it all across the road to the Town Hall and set it up inside the town hall. (A nice thing about a small town.) I had to do this to take slides of the booth in order to get into juried art shows.

Every single button in the display is hand drawn. The final photo got me into The Cornhill Arts Festival, and many other art shows in New York State.

Treasury: Let it Snow

Etsy seller, JustCHARMING made a Treasury called "Let it Snow." She put my I'd Rather Be Skiing button in the treasury. All that snow up north this winter I am sure many folks are skiing. I'd rather be Skiing, myself.

Uh oh I'm an Etsy Addict

I sure had fun holiday shopping this year. This must qualify me as an Etsy Addict. I spent all the money I made selling buttons in My Etsy Shop on gifts from other Etsy Shops.

But look at all the wonderful handmade things I bought.

Greater than that, I made some new friends in faraway places like Portugal, Finland, the UK, Japan, and Canada.

To wrap all these wonderful Etsy handmade gifts I just had to buy some of the wonderful cloth gift bags I found in Etsy shops. And that's how I made a friend in Missouri.

I just combined fun and work. I had fun combining these photos in Photoshop and I learned a lot too. Time to go to work and use Photoshop to create some fun new buttons. See ya at Portable Graffiti.

New buttons being added all day long

I'm not done yet but thought I'd take a break to post on the blog. I have been adding different buttons to Portable Graffiti all day long. The shop now has 635 buttons listed to choose from. And I have no idea how many more there are to post yet. I'm still going through stock.

Check out the shop. Lots of retro cool and vintage sayings, hippy buttons, rock and roll. I also added many new animal buttons.
